I’m a sucker for gimmicky record attempts like the bottle opening event in the below video. I’m just glad that they chose the appropriate product for the attempt.

I also hope they have a couple dozen close friends to finish off what’s left in those bottles.

Brewdog Officially Announces The End of History

In only the way they can, the brewers at Brewdog have ended history. The story behind this record setting beer is explained in the delightfully insane video below:

As for the beer itself, the 55% ABV Belgian ale is “…infused with nettles from the Scottish Highlands and Fresh juniper berries.” The packaging of the 11 — yes, 11 — bottle limited release are “…presented in a stuffed stoat or grey squirrel. The striking packaging was created by a very talented taxidermist and all the animals used were road kill.” Wow.

With a price starting at £500.00 (roughly $760) per bottle, this will truly be a one of a kind beer.

Update: And like that, all the bottles have been sold.

Perhaps by turning off the A/C in the office every night and letting the heat build up to sweltering proportions by morning, the company for which I work may have contributed to the glacial melting of the portion of my brain that tells me I really shouldn’t find this ad funny. But I do.

To really make this ad effective, imagine your own coworkers in this situation. I’m not sure how you did, but I wept a little, then became violently ill.

I originally saw this on BeerNews.org late last night, but might as well post it here as well — spread the word and all. The below video highlights the cellar of Ebenezers Pub in Lovell, ME. One look at a single shelf in this cellar is enough to see why BeerAdvocate recently ranked them as the #1 Beer Bar in the World.

Wow. The collection of brews in that basement is amazing.
