Karl Strauss Seasonal Releases

San Diego’s Karl Strauss Brewing has a few tasty treats coming out this Fall and Winter:

Two Tortugas label

First up is the brewery’s second installment of their “12 Days of Christmas” holiday series. Two Tortugas is a Belgian-inspired Quadruple Ale that “…has a delicate union of toffee, dark fruits, and warming spices that will continue to develop with age.” The beer is brewed with Pale, White Wheat, CaraBelge, Cara Munich II malts, as well as, Bravo and Willamette hops. It comes in at 11% ABV and 25 IBU.

Big Barrel label

Big Barrel is the beer that launched the company’s Coastal Reserve Series. It’s a tasty, hop-forward brew that utilizes “[a]ggressive amounts of Warrior and Ahtanum…” hops. The beer weighs in at 9% ABV and 90 IBU.

Fullsuit label

Last up is Fullsuit, the brewery’s Belgian-inspired Brown Ale — a 6.3% ABV barrel-aged Winter treat. Karl Strauss describes the beer as “…Firm toasted malt and roasted nut flavors are underpinned by a hint of vanilla that comes from aging the beer on French oak. Belgian ale yeast adds a peppery, fruity character to the beer’s slightly dry and warming finish…”
