Six point Brewing Jammer

As with many of Sixpoint’s products, the description of Jammer is not, shall we say, all that informative. I do know that this 4.2% ABV brew is a gose — beyond that, your guess is as good as mine. At least, in concerning with what goes into this thin, tall cans I am completely ignorant. What I can speak to, instead, is the drinking experience.

And Jammer, while packing a bit of salinity on the back end, is fairly straightforward. It’s a wonderfully sessionable brew with a good balance between grain, bready malt and soft hop notes. A twinge of tartness lingers in the background, offering the tastebuds a little something different.

Appearance

The beer pours a golden straw in color with a cap of bright white foam that fell gently.

Aroma

Overall, the aroma is fairly subdued. Hints of grain, a light touch of salt and distant spices mingle gently.

Taste

Initially the flavor is mostly grain, bready malt and soft hops leading the way for that telltale salinity the fades in smoothly after each sip. A late forming bit of tartness tingles mildly in the lightly drying finish. Hints of coriander linger and the crisp beer goes down pretty darn easy.

Overall

I’ve had a few goes in my time and certainly wouldn’t call myself an expert on the genre, but as far as the style goes, Jammer is pretty tame. The overall nature of the beer is mild with a hint of tartness and salt late. It’s a nicely balanced beer that is easy to drink and offers up something a little bit different than your average fare and certainly a change of pace from all the “session IPAs” flooding the market as of late.
