Highland Brewing Daycation IPA

Highland Brewing’s Daycation IPA is a refreshing and lively little brew with a hell of an aroma and wonderfully balanced flavor. The lower alcohol IPA (4.9% ABV) is brewed with Mosaic hops and a diverse malt bill (2 Row Brewers Malt, White Wheat, Rye, Vienna, Caramel 20 and Flaked Oats) before being dry-hopped with a blend of Azacca and El Dorado hop blends. As you can imagine, this IPA provides a wonderful array of aromas and flavors for a satisfying drinking experience.

Melon, berries, grapefruit, pineapple, bread and pine all present themselves in an enticing, yet balanced aroma as the beer is poured into the glass. Daycation IPA simply smells ridiculous and caused a decent drool reaction before the beer even hit the lips. Once it does, you’re greeted by a good bit of balancing malt that helps keep that piney, floral and slightly catty hop character in check.

Daycation is a refreshing and lively little brew that would be ideal for any outdoor occasion as the days continue to get warmer and longer. The beer provides a solid flavor — that I wouldn’t mind taking on some more of that fruity aroma — and excellent balance for an easy drinking experience that you don’t really want to end.
