Beer Blog Discussing All Things Craft Beer

“Drink A Stout Day” Reminder

By BarleyBlog | February 28th, 2007 | Beer, Commentary

Don’t forget that this Friday, March 2, is “Drink A Stout Day.” Originally the idea was to focus on an Irish stout, but it appears that the organizers and a few participants have decided to genericize it just a bit and allow “New World” stouts as well. Considering that I just purchased one of each of the following, I’ve got a small, but highly respected selection to choose from.

  • Brooklyn Brewing Co. Black Chocolate Stout
  • Mackeson’s XXX Stout
  • North Coast Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout

The real question, however, is whether I’ll temper my excitement and enjoy only one, or throw caution (and my waistline) to the wind and indulge in all three. I’ve had them all before so I know what I’ll be getting from each one. I can’t wait.

What will be in your pint glass for the first Beer Friday?
