October 2011 Cellar Update

It’s that time of year again — time for another Barley Blog cellar update. Since the last list of goodies was published, I’ve moved my stash (currently at 184 bottles) into a chest freezer for a more stable aging environment. You can check out the set-up here.

After a few months with the new cellar arrangement, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is both a blessing and a curse. I’m glad to finally have the bottles sitting comfortably at a consistent temperature, but the limited space within the cooler means I’m not able to store away as much as I would like — which is probably a good thing given the current state of the economy. I’ve had to become more discerning in my buying strategy as a result of the limited capacity, as well.
