Virginia Breweries Score Major Win

I haven’t been following this issue quite closely enough the past couple of months — only noticing news here and there in passing. Well, yesterday marked a large victory for Virginia brewers. Senate Bill 604 has passed the Senate floor. What does this mean for Virginia breweries and you?

Essentially, you will be able to, in the not so distant future, purchase your favorite Virginia craft beers right from the brewery for on-premise consumption — as long as Governor Bob McDonnell signs it into passing. This also means that Virginia breweries will no longer have to open a restaurant in order to sell their wares for on-site enjoyment.

Richmond’s Hardywood Park Craft Brewery has more information on the passing of Senate Bill 604. Hat tip to David.
