Starr Hill Reviver Red IPA

Of the four beers in Starr Hill’s Fall Tour seasonal variety pack, the Reviver Red IPA is the only one I haven’t encountered before now. The Grateful Pale Ale, Festie Oktoberfest and Last Leaf have all been enjoyed a few times over the past couple of years. All of the beers carry a flavor profile that is certainly appropriate for the Autumn months.

Reviver Red IPA (6.2% ABV) fits in nicely within this variety pack. It presents an array of flavors that are nicely balanced and fit the warm days and cool nights of September quite well. The malt backbone provides a light sweetness, caramel and bready notes while the hop profile shares light pine, grapefruit, a bit of orange and a decent bitterness that keeps that sweetness in check. The beer drinks easily as everything plays well with one another prior to slowly fading into the lightly drying and softly warming finish.

I love a variety pack that supplies the drinker with a variety of styles that all fit the seasonal changes they are meant to. Starr Hill have a lovely selection of brews in their Fall Tour and Reviver Red IPA fits the cooler days to come with ease. The amplified malt backbone is balanced well with an approachable, earthy hop character. I could go for a few of these.
