From beernews.org comes word that Schorschbräu is once again set to top Brewdog’s Bismarck with a 45% ABV beer. With allegations of “cheating,” it looks like the battle has only just begun.

Brewdog Hits 41% ABV with Sink the Bismarck

Looks like Brewdog didn’t wait too long in trying to one up Schorschbräu’s 40% ABV brew. Century-old Whisky Found in Antarctic

I meant to post some news on this when I first heard about it, but for some reason never did. At any rate, a team restoring an Antarctic shack used by explorer Shackleton have found a stash of whiskey and brandy beneath it’s floors.

AB InBev US Sales Drop in January

The new year is not off to a good start for AB InBev. The U.S. sales for the company were down 12.2% when compared to this time last year. (via)

Let the High ABV Beer Wars Commence!!

Only near weeks after Scotland’s BrewDog announced that they had broken the world record for alcohol content in a beer, Schorschbräu hit back with what appears to be a very small run (15 bottles) of a 40% ABV, or 80 proof, brew they call Schorschbock. Read more here.
